Writers Advisory Group

I am thrilled to be one of five writers who are part of the Writers Advisory Group (WAG) with Literature Alliance Scotland. We hope to be the voice for what writers in the country need to sustain a meaningful career as a writer.

New Writing

My work in progress is a humorous middle grade novel about a boy whose grandmother arrives from China and turns his world upside down.

Commissions

I am currently working on a reading book commission with a UK children's publisher. And have just completed a book of short stories with a different UK children's publisher which will be out in 2020!

The Big Think is a new well being programme for Primary Schools in the UK. Many of the new and inclusive stories were written by me. If you know of any primary schools who would be interested in this well-being programme then please do pass on the information.

Mentoring

My new BEA (British East Asian) mentee for 2019-2020 is Lui Sit (pronounced Louie) who writes middle grade. I was taken with Lui's writing from the first page and her earnest character Puffin.
