Scottish Book Trust - Live Literature Database for author visits
If you would like to book an author talk or a storytelling session (I can do Chinese-themed stories or fairytales from around the world) please do have a look my website and get in touch with Scottish Book Trust about their Live Literature subsidised author visits.
Write4Film with the Scottish Film Talent Network
I am excited to be part of Write4Film with the Scottish Film Talent Network and from October until April 2020, I will receive masterclasses, 1-2-1 support and a showcase for a short film and a feature outline.
Writers Advisory Group
I am thrilled to be one of five writers who are part of the Writers Advisory Group (WAG) with Literature Alliance Scotland. We hope to be the voice for what writers in the country need to sustain a meaningful career as a writer.
My work in progress is a humorous middle grade novel about a boy whose grandmother arrives from China and turns his world upside down.
I am currently working on a book commission with a UK children's publisher.
The Big Think is a new wellbeing programme for Primary Schools in the UK. Many of the new and inclusive stories were written by me. If you know of any primary schools who would be interested in this well-being programme then please do pass on the information.
My new BEA (British East Asian) mentee for 2019-2020 is Lui Sit (pronounced Louie) who writes middle grade. I was taken with Lui's writing from the first page and her earnest character Puffin. I can't wait to get stuck in!
My #WriteMentor for the summer is Lori Keckler from Texas who is writing a football themed middle grade novel starring Sofia. Lori is a member of SCBWI Austin and is eager to get started on her rewrites.
Both Lui and Lori have already had interest from multiple agents.
